Construction claims guide

Construction Claim Document Checklist

The right document set depends on the contract, event and remedy sought, but a consistent checklist makes missing evidence visible early. This is general workflow guidance, not legal advice; always check the signed contract.

Contract and procedure records

Collect the executed contract, amendments, scope, programme obligations, notice clauses, service provisions, party details, relevant instructions and issued notices with proof of service.

Time and factual records

Collect accepted programmes, updates, progress reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, site diaries, photographs, requests for information, design releases and mitigation records.

Cost and review records

Collect labour, plant, materials, invoices, ledgers, allocations, valuation records, calculations, assumptions, exclusions, approval decisions and the final issue record.

Turn the guidance into a controlled project record

ContractingClaims keeps sources, events, missing information, drafts and versions together for professional review.
